Encompass is an immersible 3D environment to grasp the building blocks of all 3D computer-generated graphics. It allows the user to create a 3D scene using basic shapes such as triangles and rectangles that make up all large 3D models. A cybernetic system results that guides the user’s actions with instant feedback. The ultimate goal is to create a palatable scene and allow the user to embrace the ability of digitalization of real-world objects that is similar to those used in professional composition software. What is different, however, is that very little knowledge is necessary to start this process and the results are immediately visible. Encompass is furthermore based on free-to-distribute libraries for the JAVA programming language is therefore free to share and reproduce.
